Step 1 of 3

How do you make branch connections for your fire sprinkler systems?

Select your existing method — we'll compare it directly against Snapdrill.

🔨
Hand drill + Mechanical T
10–15 min / connection
Manual hole saw on pipe, fit mechanical tee. Varies by pipe schedule and diameter.
⚙️
Threading machine + Threaded T
15 min / connection
Cut, ream, thread, tape, screw fitting. Requires 100 kg machine, oil, metal shavings.
🏭
Prefabricated welded outlets
€30–100 / outlet
Buy pre-welded branch lines from supplier. High material cost, zero on-site flexibility, and the fabricator keeps the margin.
⚡ Snapdrill: 2 min / connection · clean · quiet · no setup

Calculation methodology

All savings figures are indicative guidelines intended to visualize potential savings. Actual results will vary depending on project conditions, crew experience, pipe size, and site complexity.

Investment basis: Entry-level kit — one Snapdrill unit + 2 hole saws, approx. €2,000. The Complete Standard kit (five machines, batteries, charger, case, 18 hole saws) is priced higher.

Labor rates: All-in rates per region, covering base wage + social charges + employer overhead. Sourced from industry benchmarks for pipefitters and fire sprinkler installers.

Installation times: Snapdrill is benchmarked at 2 minutes per branch connection. Hand drill: 10 min (SCH10), 15 min (SCH40), 12 min (stainless). Threading machine: 15 min per connection. Based on Snapdrill field data across multiple projects.

Hole saw life: Snapdrill tungsten carbide saws — 400 holes (SCH10), 200 holes (SCH40), 150 holes (stainless). Hand drill saws — 15 / 10 / 5 holes respectively. Snapdrill saw €80, hand drill saw €20.

Prefab comparison: Material cost fixed at €15/outlet (pipe ~€10 + mechanical T ~€5). Fitter output 100–250 Mechanical Ts/shift, adjustable in the calculator. Output range is based on third-party case studies and contractor interviews conducted over 5+ years across multiple markets. Prefab pricing €30–€100 based on Tyco, Viking, Victaulic, and local fabricator benchmarks.

Data sources: Performance figures are backed by third-party case studies and countless contractor interviews conducted by Snapdrill over more than five years of global use. Entry-level kit price: approx. €2,000 — one Snapdrill unit + 2 hole saws. Contact sales@snapdrill.no for a full quote.
