During the oil crisis in 2016, entrepreneur Tor Ole Talgø, who had long operated an advanced machining company in Rogaland, Norway, began thinking about the future and creating his own products. The idea sparked when his brother-in-law - a lifelong pipefitter facing several health challenges - shared a surprising fact: pipefitters drill thousands of holes in steel pipes by hand every year. It made no sense. A CNC operator uses machines for such tasks -why were pipefitters still doing this manually?
This insight led to the first sketch of the iconic Snapdrill “claw.” Soon came the auto feed, the integrated level, and many other refinements. Within just a few years, GMV and Snap Drill AS were exporting the Snapdrill machine worldwide, helping pipefitters install faster and safer.Leveraging expertise and quality standards from the oil and defense industries, the team developed a product that was highly advanced to manufacture yet remarkably simple to use.

When is the groover going to be available and which sizes will it take?
TBD in 2026. Sizes up to 4 inch and SCH40.
What sizes are available for Snapdrill?
From DN32 / 42,4mm / 1-1/4 through 6 inch and up to 70mm / 2-3/4-inch holes.
What is your warranty?
We offer an extended two-year warranty on all product defects.
Where are your products made?
We engineer and manufacture the Snapdrill machines outside Stavanger in Norway, at the high-end machine shop GMV.
